Clinical trials are research studies designed to find ways
to improve health and /or discover new treatments for disease.
Clinical trials are scientifically controlled and use human
volunteers. There are specific guidelines about who can participate.
Some trials require more frequent doctor’s visits and
testing. Some use new or experimental medications. Some use
well established medications in a new way or to try a well known
medication to treat a different disease.
MediLink Homecare, Inc works closely with area physicians involved
in clinical trials. The nurse will monitor patient’s response
and the pharmacist will coordinate with the physician enabling
the patient to participate with the assurance that someone is
always available to answer his/her questions.
MediLink Homecare, Inc. is experienced in the Clinical Trial
arena. Our experienced pharmacists will verify the IRB approved
protocol with the study sponsor on your order. The drug or placebo
will then be dispensed to the patient or controlled setting.
Our high tech nurses will insert the appropriate vascular access
device, provide initial skilled assessment and administer or
teach the patient to administer the medication.
